Workforce Training in the IT Sector

I hope all is well, and that you’ve been enjoying the great late spring weather we’ve been having!
I’m writing to touch base with you about terrific workforce training in the IT sector, offered by Tech Foundry.  As you may know, I’ve made a career change (back) into the nonprofit sector, leading Tech Foundry, our region’s IT-focused workforce development organization.  I’ve been impressed by the content and, more importantly, impact of the Tech Foundry program in the 2 months I’ve been on board; I’m writing today in the hope that we can reconnect about continued collaboration.
Specifically, with an unprecedented number of open jobs in the technology sector, Tech Foundry would like to work with your organization and the people you serve to connect them to training, work experience and job placement in IT.
This fall, we’re doubling our training capacity, with 50 slots available for students for our program starting in late August.  The application is open on our website: https://thetechfoundry.org/the-program/apply-now/ .  Our flyer and links to our information session calendar can be found here: Learn More – Tech Foundry (thetechfoundry.org).
We’ll also send some materials to you in hard copy. We hope you’ll help us spread the word – and will also refer potential students to us.
More about Tech Foundry’s program:
  •        Our 18-week program (14 weeks of classes, 4 of internship) will be offered hybrid, with a mix of online and in-person classes and activities, in morning and afternoon timeslots, enabling people to work.
  •        Graduates will earn a Tech Foundry certificate, as well as Google IT credentials and a full semester’s worth of credits at HCC.
  •        Tech Foundry works to build a warm, supportive and collaborative culture, including providing coaching and mentoring during and after the program, as well as internship and job placement.
  •        Average starting wage of our graduates is $38-40K/year, with most earning between $50-60K within 2 years.  Our IT certification is one of the fastest ways to access a stable, living wage job with opportunities for ongoing career growth!
To apply, potential student members must complete the required process (application form, basic skills evaluation) by July 6.  Qualified students will be interviewed in July, with acceptance being offered in early August.
Either my colleague Marie-Ange Delimon or I will call you in the coming week to follow-up; in the interim, please do not hesitate to contact me at tricia@thetechfoundry.org, or at 413.276.0609 if you have any questions or need more information.

Thanks for your consideration.

Best regards,

Tricia Canavan
